Welcome Mr. Philip Alexander Dalidakis – the Minister of Victoria state (Australia) to visit the HOTEC (27/04)
In the afternoon of March, 28-2017, the Government Delegation of Victoria state (Australia) visited and worked with the HCMC Economic and Technical College (HOTEC). The HOTEC welcomed honorably Sir Philip Alexander Dalidakis – the Minister of Victoria state of the Small business, the Improvement and the Commerce; Mr. Jason Chai – the Minister Advisor; Mrs. Amanda Jayne Pickrell – the Development Director of the International Education Program – the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transportation and Resources; Mr. Brett Reginald Stevens – the Government Office Commissioner of Victoria state at South East Asia; Mrs. Yeo Sook Peng (Celia Yeo) – the Director of Educational Service; Mr. Raymond Prakash Peter – In charge of Government Relations and Marketing of the Government Commerce Office of the Victoria state at South East Asia; Mrs. Christine Maria Louey – the Project Manager in VN of the Chisholm Institute; Mrs. Beverley Jeffreys – the International Project Manager of the Bendigo Kangan Institute and Mr. Pham Ngoc Thanh – the Vice Director of the HCMC Department of Education and Training. About the HOTEC, there were the presences of the Representatives of the Board of Rectors, teachers who are the Heads of units.
The spectacular of meeting
The HOTEC is one of colleges which are approved to become key school in South East Asia area by the HCMC People’s Committee. The school mission is providing the good skilled human resource for HCMC and areas especially in the Technique – Technology field. Therefore, the HOTEC always looks for opportunities to cooperate with the domestic – international technique education units in order to innovate for the training program and to upgrade the teacher standard of school, especially in the integration trend of the ASEAN area economy nowadays.
At the meeting, the Minister Philip Alexander Dalidakis highly appreciated the close relationship between the Australia and Viet Nam in the educational field. Recent years, the amount of VN overseas students studying in Australia hits a record. That shows deep concern of the Australian Government for Viet Nam. Besides, the Minister introduced about the research project to figure out the opportunities to cooperate with Viet Nam. Moreover, he showed cooperative education and training partnership models from the universities of the Victoria state which are deployed for the HOTEC in the future. At the same time, he emphasized the job opportunities at foreign invested enterprises in VN as well as Australian companies for Vietnamese good skilled students would increase in near future.

About the HOTEC, Mr. Pham Duc Khiem agreed that there were good chances to study through the international cooperative programs. He also represented for the Minister and the Representatives of the Victoria State Government Office about some current cooperative programs. Besides, he showed the cooperative demand to develop capacities of teachers as well as students, especially in Australia which is one of countries has the advanced education and technical technology all over the world. At the same time, he confirmed the strength points of school as well as the orientation to cooperate in the future.

After the communication, two partners were desirable to have next meetings and same direction towards long-term cooperation. Furthermore, this would further promote the good traditional relationship between Viet Nam and Australia in general, the HOTEC and Victoria State in particular.
